Currency and Banks
The official currency in Denmark is the Danish Krone (DKK). All major credit cards are widely accepted in most places in Denmark. In Copenhagen, there are numerous ATM machines available 24 hours a day which accept both debit and credit cards. While some ATMs might not charge a fee, your bank may impose certain charges.
Banks in Denmark are typically open on weekdays from 9:30 to 16:00 CEST.
Electricity
Denmark, like the majority of European countries, employs the 230 Volt/50 Hz standard and two-pin continental plugs.
Bring a plug adaptor if you are travelling from the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Switzerland, or any other country that uses voltage between 220 and 240 volts. Please bring a voltage converter if you are travelling from a country that uses a voltage range of 100-127V, such as the United States, Canada, or a significant portion of South America.
Certain hotels offer the option to borrow power converters.
