Speakers & Authors Instructions

The Speakers’ Service Centre (SSC) welcomes all presenters who will be giving an oral presentation in a dedicated lecture room. The SSC is located close to the registration area and is signposted accordingly.

All lecture rooms will be equipped with a computer and a data projector (beamer) for PowerPoint presentations only. Presentations must be submitted via a memory stick or your own laptop at the SSC before the lecture.

To ensure the smooth running of the congress, all speakers must submit their PowerPoint presentations at least two hours before the start of their session. Speakers will have the opportunity to review their presentations on PCs available in the SSC.

Speakers who have used the web-upload to submit their presentation are requested to visit the SSC to check their presentation.

Important Guidelines for Presentations 

Due to current regulations regarding financial transparency, IT IS STRICTLY MANDATORY that you disclose any conflict of interest (e.g. grant support, consultancy, membership on advisory councils, speaker’s bureau) and sources of funding. Each presenter must prepare a one-sentence statement, which must be shown on the second slide of your PowerPoint presentation.

Your presentation should be prepared as a PPT or PPTX file in PowerPoint versions 2003-2016 & 365. Versions 2013 and higher are recommended.

Please set the slide size to “16:9 – Widescreen” and landscape orientation. Portrait orientation will not display properly.

Pre-Upload of Presentations

All speakers and oral abstract presenters will have the opportunity to upload their presentations to a secure server prior to the congress. This pre-upload option will be available until 24 hours before the start of the session. Detailed instructions will be sent to all speakers approximately three weeks before the congress.

Paper Poster Sessions 

Paper Posters will be displayed in two sessions in the Paper Poster Area. Presenters are kindly requested to stand by their posters during the respective sessions. The mounting and removal times must be strictly adhered to. Any posters not removed by the end of the allocated time will be disposed of by congress staff.

All accepted posters will be available for viewing on ePoster screens onsite in the ePoster Area and on the digital congress platform. Therefore, we kindly ask that you upload the ePoster version of your poster prior to the conference.

Posters with numbers starting with “P1000” have been accepted as ePosters only.

Please note that abstracts accepted as “ePosters only” will be displayed and accessible on ePoster screens during the congress; however, they will not be presented in a specific session.
