ECTRIMS is proud to announce its endorsement of the European Multiple Sclerosis Platform’s (EMSP’s) One Million Minds campaign.
This crucial initiative strives for improved quality of care and life for people with MS and other neurological conditions across Europe, gaining momentum as the European Parliamentary Elections approach in June 2024.
The campaign’s objectives are multifaceted:
- Concrete Proposals: EMSP identified proposals for Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and other authorities, advocating for better care and lives for people with MS and other neurological conditions across Europe. EMSP and its partners encourage future MEPs to sign the One Million Minds pledge to deliver on these proposals during their 2024-2029 mandate.
- Mobilisation: EMSP is mobilising partners, supporters, and friends like ECTRIMS to endorse the campaign and work towards tangible change in the next five years.
- Community Voice: Together with EMSP we will provide a platform for the MS community to express the urgency with which European and national decision-makers must act on their demands.
This manifesto is a response to the urgent need to address the unmet needs faced by over 1.2 million individuals living with multiple sclerosis (MS) across Europe. Every five minutes, someone, somewhere in the world is diagnosed with MS.
The prevalence of MS is substantial, with 37,000 new MS diagnoses reported across 27 European countries in 2018.
